CSCC Reports 2004: River Mole, 20 March 2004
Despite the weather forecasts - rain and gale force winds - a few of us (David P, Chris S, Dan, Matt S) ran effectively a pilot trip on the River Mole from Castle Mill Weir, Dorking, to River Lane, Fetcham. After heavy rain the previous day, the river was brown and quite high (the Box Hill stepping stones were well covered) and flowing quite quickly. As a result, it's hard to judge what the river would normally be like! The 9 miles took a couple of hours. A pleasant paddle - though at normal levels, with much less flow, the distance might become tedious.
