Fi R. led a very successful white water weekend at Symonds Yat. Mark, Naomi, Josh, Dom and Dan received coaching tips and then practised in the rapids over two days. Due to the dry weather, the water level was only just high enough for paddling, but the river was so warm that we were unusually happy to practice rolling and rescues including my favourite – ’dope on a rope’. I also saw a kingfisher. We stayed at the paddocks hotel which is very convenient for the river and very comfortable, with a lovely garden. our thanks go to Fi for organising the weekend.
